A low growing shrub of equal size in height and spread ultimately reaching 1.5m
Flowers: 1-2 tubular funnel shaped flowers from the terminal buds; 30mm long x 20-25mm wide, pure rose-pink shading to silvery rose; stamens and style are red

Foliage: Evergreen, dimorphic. Summer leaves are evergreen, small, glossy green, upper surface lightly covered with adpressed hairs; bristle-toothed margins; a paler matt green below with a hairy midrib. Spring leaves are paler, larger and have a thinner lamina than summer leaves and will drop in autumn/winter
Other Information: This is a naturally occurring Kurume azalea hybrid; number 22 of the Wilson 50 collection of azaleas. A reliable and floriferous, early flowering azalea that is equally at home in the garden or a container. In milder areas of the UK ‘Kirin’ may flower any time from Christmas onwards.
